Something I want to be honest with you about
Hi,
I want to be honest with you about something.
Prepare Kids is changing — and you deserve to know exactly what that means for you.
Starting now, we publish twice a week instead of three times.
Monday is free — always has been, always will be. One life skill per month, explored through real stories from my family, with something practical you can try the same day. If you never upgrade, Monday’s post still delivers genuine value every single week. That commitment doesn’t change.
Thursday goes to paid members only. This is where the skill moves from idea to action. A complete implementation guide — conversation scripts with the exact words to use when your kids push back or go quiet, age-specific variations for 5–7, 8–10, and 11–12 year olds, and the mistakes I see parents make most often so you can avoid them. Everything you need to actually do the thing Monday made you want to do.
One skill per month — not one per week.
This is the bigger change, and I made it deliberately.
After two years of publishing, I kept hearing the same thing from parents: the ideas were landing, but the implementation wasn’t sticking. A new skill every week was too fast. Families were reading, nodding, and moving on before anything had actually changed.
One skill per month means four weeks of Monday posts building the same idea from different angles. Four Thursday guides giving you progressively deeper implementation. Time to actually practise something before we move on. The difference between a newsletter you read and a programme that works.
For annual members: something new.
Every Thursday post now comes with a weekly diary sheet — a two-sided A5 PDF designed for your family to use alongside the post. Day 1 through Day 7 actions drawn directly from that week’s content. Space to capture what you tried, how your child responded, and one moment worth remembering.
By the end of twelve months, annual members will have 48 of these sheets. A complete record of a year of intentional parenting, in your child’s own words.
The full archive — every Thursday guide ever written — unlocks the moment you join. No waiting.
I started Prepare Kids because I believe these skills matter more than almost anything else we give our children. Monday plants the seed. Thursday is where the growing actually happens.
If you’re ready for that:
Either way, I’ll be in your inbox Monday.
